A word from owner Robert Greatorex
I have been the proud owner of Romano’s Pizzeria in Haverhill for the past 18 years, to say that the past three years has been a challenge to be a small business owner, would be an understatement. We would never have gotten through it without each of you, our loyal customers.
I want to express my sincerest thanks to all of you for keeping us going and putting your faith in us to keep you all safe during a global pandemic as you walked through our doors to pick up your food.
Your patience and kindness towards our employees as we struggled with restrictions and eventually poor staffing will never be forgotten. Without all of you, we would not be where we are today.
It has been an absolute pleasure through the years getting to know some of you on a more personal level and to have formed what truly feels more like a community than a business.
I grew up in Revere, MA and learned the value of hard work watching and working with my Dad who was a small business owner himself. I went on from working in his machine shop to making pizzas and immediately knew that someday I would own my own pizzeria. With hard work and effort that dream would become a reality in 2004 when I bought Romano’s. The community of Haverhill and its surrounding towns has been with us through all the ups and downs and we would never be where we are today without you!
I have always considered my customers and employees family, and I look forward to continuing to serve each of you as we have always strive to do, going forward.
I now live in Sandown NH with my family and have recently found my other passion caring for our small farm. What started out as raising chickens and our duck Lenny (named after my Dad) has grown into rescuing two donkeys named George and Grady. I enjoy taking care of them along with our two dogs Bubba and Abilene, when I am away from the store and look forward to taking in more animals someday. Watch for them to be featured on our Instagram page!
We at Romano’s promise to continue to strive to provide you, our loyal customers, with the same great quality food and service you have come to know and expect despite what the world throws at us! Again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your continued support, we could not have made it through these last years without you!
With gratitude,
Robert Greatorex
